Hi, I'm Jerry Bechtold, owner and President of Automated Pure Water, Inc. In 1959, I went to work at a water treatment company in Gary, Indiana. I bought that same company in 1965. It was a franchised dealership so I was unable to deal in products other than those available through the franchise. I sold the company in 1969.

I moved to Florida with the idea of going back into the manufacturing aspect of the business. In 1970, I opened a store in Vero Beach for the purpose of retail sales and assembly, manufacturing the equipment we were selling. Over the years, I had accumulated many ideas and put them on paper, hoping some day to develop those products.

In 1980, I tuned over the retail stores to my two sons. I decided to concentrate on the further development of the ideas that played an important part in the water treatment industry. That was the beginning of " Automated Pure Water, Inc.".

We first developed the "Model 400 Chemical Feeder", followed by the "Mineral Extractor" (which has grown in to 7 different types). We now have 8-9 different tank adaptors for various applications, the saturation-type "Chemical Mixing Retention Tank" and the new "Sand Trap", which is a sand separating device.
